Chinese Cupping Therapy

Chinese Cupping Therapy

An ancient and very effective treatment for areas of deep-rooted tension. Heat and suction is used to draw toxins out and revitalise the affected area with fresh nutrients.

The client lies on the treatment couch as directed depending on which areas need to be worked on. The area is massaged with grapeseed oil and glass cups are then applied to create a suction on the deep fascia. They are moved around the affected area to continue the massage. There may be several areas to be treated and they are treated along the meridian lines following the principles of traditional Chinese medicine. The treatment concludes with massage and a short acupressure sequence for relaxation.

Localised bruising can occur, where tissue responds to the suction and blood is drawn closer to the surface. This is supposed to happen.
